How To Paint A Wood Carving
With Acrylic Paint
Step # 2 Painting the LeavesI started off painting the leaves. You can use premixed acrylic paint in any shade of green you desire or you can mix your acrylic paint to get the tint and shade of green desired like I did. I chose to use opaque acrylic colors and mixed with very little water to achieve a more saturated look. I was trying to achieve something like an Art Deco look rather than opt to paint the leaves with washes or multiple layers of transparent acrylics paint as glazes.
Many acrylic artists recommend applying the mid tones first, followed by the dark areas and finally the highlights, although I don't always follow this rule. |
